The Sure Way to Self Improvement

Living the simple life is easy. You are here for a good time, not a long time. So make every minute of you life count.

These sure fire ways to self improvement can and will work.

By living the simple life does not mean that you have to achieve something each waking moment or working yourself to death, before you can take a break to do something for yourself or that you enjoy.

What is does mean is that you need to find things that you enjoy and that make you feel good. The only thing that is stopping you living the simple life is the mental baggage you carry around with you; this is preventing you from seeing things clearly due to old habits and old beliefs. So were does your mental baggage come from? Like physical clutter in your home that grows over the years, mental clutter does the same; it slowly creeps up on you when you do not expect it.

It starts with the attitudes that you gain over the years, these attitudes then show in the way you view yourself. It is compounded by habits that develop over time, whereby you go though emotions rather than true experiences. This is made worse by the self-destructive cycle you carry around causing negative experiences.

You judge yourself by others success and feel bad when you have not lived up to your or someone else dream. You worry if a colleague gets a pay rise and you do not, if your home is not as nice as someone else’s. Instead of focusing on what you do not have, try to focus your energy on to getting the things you do want in life. You can do this by clearing your mind of negative energy and thoughts. It is always easier to dream about what you want, rather than thinking about the things you have. Now the time to start using self improvement.

If I was to ask you to go outside and find a spot that you think is beautiful, you would not think twice because you know what beauty is, and you can see it. How often do you look at the beauty that surrounds you each day? However, if I asked you to look into a mirror and list you best features, could you do the same? If I asked you to make a list of twenty things you do best, would you find it easy? Do you look for the best in yourself or do you look at your faults? What do you think feels better?

  Self Improvement

You know what, we all have stuff! And we all have experiences that we would not choose to have again. You would have experienced loss and disappointment throughout your life.

You would have done things that you wished you had not, and said things without thinking; this is what makes you human. All these things happen in a moment and cannot be revisited. However, what you can do, is look at what you have experienced and choose differently next time you are faced with a similar situation. This is what self improvement is all about.

Living the simple life is about de-junking your mind and this is easier than you think. It does not take years to understand what has happened in the past. All you need to do is re-examine the way you think and forgive yourself for all that has happened in the past. Freeing up space in your mind will allow new things to happen. This is the way to start living the simple life.

Start now, you can choose to focus on a thought that uplifts or you can let them drag you down. You can take action to get things right. When you do this, you will find you feel good, accomplish more, and have fun in the process. It is easier to take a small step forward than to worry about achieving the bigger goals that can overwhelm you at first.

I am a firm believer that living the simple life starts by believing in the power of positive thinking. This is followed by self-growth, self-improvement, and success. Once you shed negative thoughts, and change your habits there will be many ways you can develop a positive mental attitude. I sincerely believe that you can do anything you want to do, if you set your mind to it, and practice positive thinking and self improvement.

Life need not be complicated. There are many ways that you can start living the simple life, and use self improvement to improve the quality of your life, all you require is one thing your desire.

Here are seven simple strategies that can show you that living the simple life is easier than you think. Start your self improvement journey today.

  1. Smile: Share a smile and see how contagious it is. All you have to do is smile for a few minutes a day to make a difference.

  2. Give yourself time: How you face the morning can have an impact on your day. When you take time with your personal appearance and collect your thoughts, you will then be able to focus on the day and focus on your achievements.

  3. Start each day with a blank canvas: Start your day in a positive way, this means taking the day as it comes. Leave behind unpleasant or unsolved issues from the day before. When you start the day looking backwards, it will be hard to go forward.

  4. Do, something fun daily: Look at ways to bring your playful nature into your daily activities. This will help you to be positive about your day and get you through your day.

  5. Connect with nature: You possible spent too much time thinking and not enough time experiencing what is going on around you. On your way to work or taking the children to school look at nature and the colors around you, these will uplift you and give you a sense of feeling good. Look at something beautiful. One of the quickest ways to get your mind positive is to look around at what you have. When you look at what you have achieved, it puts you in a positive frame of mind and helps you though the day.

  6. Relaxation time: It is important to allow your body time to unwind in order for it to release tension and the stress of the day. Have thirty minutes personal time. When you are relaxed, your mind is happier and you will be able to deal with issues and feel more positive.

  7. Show appreciation: It does feel good to be appreciated. Think about the last time you were thanked for something you did. You do not have to do something large to make a difference; just knowing that even a small action has had an impact can place a smile on your face and make you feel good. There are many ways to get appreciation, however; it starts by showing appreciation for yourself and of everything you have in your life.

This is all it takes to start living the simple life. I hope this helps you see that big things do not have to be everything. Small things are just as important, living the simple life is all it takes to change your life.
