Testing your Sixth Sense exercise

Try these different exercises on the Sixth Sense. Then consider the exercise, and recall the times you experienced your sixth sense.


Exercise - The Sixth Sense - What is that smell?

Ask a close friend to make up a sampler tray; it could include things like a lemon, furniture polish, starch, stationery, spices, mothballs a smelly sock and an overripe piece of cheese.

Keep your eyes closed or blindfolded and smell each item individually. Take time to experience each scent. It is just as important to identify what feelings you are receiving from each item, as it is to identify the source of the smell.


Exercise -The Sixth Sense Taste

Sit in a quiet airy place and start to relax.
Breathe slowly and regularly open your mouth slightly. Let the air around your flow into your mouth. Focus on the taste of the air and open yourself completely to whatever you are sensing. You will be very surprised at how much information you will receive this way.


Exercise -The Sixth Sense Touch

Ask someone who knows you well to pick out a distinctively textured object for you. Close your eyes and ask your friend to place the item in your hands

As you explore the item talk about the places you see and what you receive from it. This may take you into a garden or onto a beach or somewhere you have never been before.


Exercise - The Sixth Sense Sound

Find an outdoor space where there are plenty of birds this could be a public park or in your garden. Sit quietly, relax and start to listen to the birds singing around you. At some point, you will distinguish one song from the others. Focus on this and spend time listening to it. Now listen to the song of another bird and listen to this for a while. Again, you will find that you are naturally drawn to the next bird in line. Listen intuitively to each song sensing the essence within each.


Exercise -The Sixth Sense Travel

Pick a place that you have never seen before but someone you know does. Make sure you can trust the person you choose. Get yourself into a relaxed state and start to focus on your breathing. Then concentrate on traveling to your destination and slowly enter the area you have decided to go.

Start to look around carefully. What do you see? Take notice of anything you see and speak to the person that is helping you. Let them know what you are seeing so they can write it down.

Once you are happy and you have seen enough take yourself back to your own body. Now sit with the person that has been helping you and see how much you got right.

Since your senses can be very unpredictable, it is sometimes difficult to verify that you have it. You may have experienced using the sixth sense and not even realized it.


To see if your the sixth sense is working here are some useful tips.

1. Think back to your dreams, did they seem to come true? These are times when you experience déjà vu or the feeling that you have been through this before.

2. Recall the times that you had a hunch or feeling that something would happen and then it really did. Of course, most times these feelings are the result of knowledge you may have about the incident, but there are times when you just had that special feeling and the event came true.

3. Think of the time you have thought of something at the same time as another person. Have you put this down to coincidence? Also, think of the times when you seemed to know what someone was thinking. Did you believe that you were just reading their body language?

4. Remember situations where you felt a spiritual presence of someone or something. This can include the time after a funeral or when you were in church.

Recalling these events show that there were times in your life when you used what is known to be your sixth sense.

Just as it is very difficult if not impossible to improve your vision through exercise, it is also difficult to improve your sixth sense capabilities beyond what you were born with. On the other hand, you can improve your sensitivity to your sixth sense; just as you can come more aware of your other senses.

One thing to remember is that the sixth sense seems to work less the harder you try to use it; it seems to work best when you are not trying too hard.

Consider the exercise above, and recall times that it seemed you were experiencing your sixth sense. Now think back and try to remember exactly how you felt when it happened. Then try some predictions, guesses or other exercises similar to the one above. Use your journal to write down anything you might think is going to happen. Then you can always check back.

When you practice with your senses, it will allow you to improve your sixth sense.

Please note that getting those senses working also includes being more sensitive to all of your other senses.

The sixth sense is often referred to as the third eye. To activate your third eye and perceive higher dimensions, the pineal gland and the pituitary body must vibrate in unison, which is achieved through meditation and relaxation. When a correct relationship is established between personality, operating through the pituitary body, and the soul, operating through the pineal gland, a magnetic field is created.

Visualization exercise is the first step in directing the energies in your inner system to activate the third eye. The magnetic field is created around the pineal gland, by focusing the mind on the midway point between the pineal gland and the pituitary body. The creative imagination visualizes something and the thought energy of the mind gives life and direction to this form.

The third eye development, imagination and visualization are important ingredients in many methods to separate from the physical form. Intuition is also achieved through the third eye. Knowledge and memory of the astral plane are not registered in a fully wakened consciousness until the intuition becomes strong enough. Flashes of intuition come with increasing consistency as the third eye is activated to a greater degree, through practice.

Everybody sees images or shapes after closing their eyes although most do not pay attention to the images, because they are not programmed to look at images. The images can come from your higher self, your spirit guides or other spirit friends. These images can take time to understand but there is no hurry.

Many native traditions and mystical practices refer to the ability of seeing or being aware of energy fields at higher levels. This abstract awareness is much more subjective and does not involve the normal level of mundane consciousness, which is mostly concerned with self-identity. This seeing refers to the sight of the third eye.

The third eye is an organ of the light body, which may be referred to as the energy, or etheric body. When the third eye is opened, it has access to the layers or dimensions of the soul. I refer to the soul as the memories of the light being. These memories contain the past, future and present dimensions of what some people might define as time. The third eye is the gateway or portal to the dimensionality of space that may be described as space or time. You can enter through a portal to another dimension in order to travel. Many people have experienced this partially via dreams and visions. Tuning the third eye allows an individual more freedom of choice and clarity.

Tuning off the third eye is similar to cleaning the lenses of a camera. In this way, the third eye is freed from blockages and debris left from past, present, future and life traumas. Once the third eye is activated, it is a direct perceptual communication organ between the light body and the physical body.

Traditionally the third eye is used by people that are interested in working towards planetary peace. All of the work is guided by your spirit guide.

The third eye is super sensitive and therefore can be easily affected by moods, food, drink and drugs. Those people whose third eye is constantly open have a tendency towards being over stimulated. These people may find that noise such as television or radio and other electromagnetic equipment causes them irritation, in these cases the third eye is jammed open due to over activity- sensorial overload. This stresses the body as it distorts the communication system of the soul.

Once you have connected with your third eye you will have a sense of floating in a sea of energy. This sense is cultivated via many practices within many cultures meditation, relaxation and sport. However it is not the activity that generates the sense of the third eye it is the third eye that generates the sense of balance, focus, attention, co-ordination and flow of the your performance. The third eye is responsible for the freedom of choice to intend movement of the light body. Therefore, the freedom of individuality and creativity is controlled by the third eye.

The Third eye is the gateway to the future of our civilization. As a culture, we will be faced with accepting our light bodies as the part of the soul that is responsible for taking care of the planet earth.


An exercise you can try.

Sit quietly clear your mind of diversions and clutter take a few slow deep breaths and start to focus on the screen in your mind.

Colors should start to come into view. Keep watching the colors relax and breathe deeply and slowly. The colors will now turn into a shape that you may or may not recognize.

If you do not see anything this could be because you are not relaxed or you are nervous. If this happens just go back and try again a little later in the day.


Exercise - The Third Eye

Once you are relaxed, extend your arms out in front of you and hold two forefingers upright about 6 inches apart. Start to concentrate on the space between your fingers; keep a steady gaze. Gently draw the fingers together until they merge into one. Take note how your focus moves position; one minute it is on the right and the next on the left. Keep repeating this until you start to visualize a third finger without the help of the other two.

The position of this third finger is where you should look when you first start to see peoples' auras.
