The River of Life Meditation

Use this meditation to find out what you are really trying to accomplish. The River of Life brings you into a area of peace and inner awaking.


Find a comfortable place where you can relax and be completely quiet. Now allow your thoughts to just come and go, now take a deep breath in and hold it, now gather up the tension in your body and release it as you exhale. Now breathe in new possibilities and allow your body to fill with lightness, feel it becoming lighter and lighter as you relax more and more. Relaxing deeper now feeling very light, so light in fact you feel like you could almost float away.

As you relax, imagine a beautiful colored mist swirling up around you, and as you look at it, it turns into a soft cloud of energy. You are resting completely upon this cloud. Breathe in and out, let your thoughts just come and go. The cloud of energy now lifts you up into the air and carries you down into your own inner world. You go down between the boundaries of time and space to a place of timeless beauty and infinite possibilities.
You are floating down now, going deeper and deeper, leaving the outer world and its concerns far behind, as you drift and float on this beautiful cloud.

You are going further and further down. As you look down you notice a giant rock and the cloud gently and effortlessly lands upon the rock and you step off, and you watch as the cloud swirls back into a mist and disappears for now.

As you stand upon the rock you feel the strength of it under your feet and as you turn around you look out upon a great river flowing as far as you can see. It seems to come from some infinite place and disappears into an infinite place, a flowing endless river of energy. This is the river of all life and all of life draws upon the life force that moves through its current. Look closely at the water what color is it? It may look like liquid light to you, however, look deeply into it, and sense the power and depth of the river of life. What sounds does it make as it moves through its channels?

As you stand securely upon the rock, take notice of the different smells, now bend down and cup your hands into the river and splash some of it on your face. Feel the life giving force on your skin. Now take a slip of the water and allow the river of life to nourish you.

Relax a moment upon the rock and bring into your mind the magical intention that never seemed to go anywhere. What are you trying to accomplish? Feel the energy of the emotion moving onto the palms of your hands, now feel the energy glowing.
Allow any intention that you still cling to disappear. The energy of it is now shimmering, glowing and swirling into the distance allowing all of your desires to flow into the different world and allowing this world to appear to you. However it appears, just observe what you see. You may see pictures or symbols emerging within your world. Whatever you see is fine.

When your world is completely filled with your desires, emotions and intentions hold it, feel the power of it in your hands, a globe of power that you can now release and look out into the river of life. Watch as its currents of possibility flow forever and ever, as far as you can see and whenever you are ready with as much little force as you need, throw the pulsating world into the river of life and give this intention to the life force of the great river. Watch as your world touches the water and gradually disappears into the current.

Take a deep breath as the world disappears taking your intentions, emotions and desires, watch them merge with the source of all life, from which it originally came.

Now complete any business here that you need to finish, take a few moments to enjoy the flowing river of life, and know that the possibilities it nourishes can bring miracles into your life. Now take another deep breath, and notice the colored mist is once again swirling around you and once again you are standing on the cloud of cushioned energy, which is lifting you up into the air.

Relaxing into the cloud you are returning the way you came lifting, you up through time and space, coming back from the inner world. You are now drifting back into your body. Bring your attention completely back into this time and place with a deep breath and begin to re-orientate yourself to the outer world and when you are ready slowly open your eyes.
